introducing our new JUSTtouch extern

now that school is back in session, National Holistic Institute (NHI), partners again with tranquilityRx. Kampol will supervise the required practice hours for approved students in our JUSTtouch community outreach. we are proud to introduce our first new student this year, Ahmad Lampkins.

born and raised in Oakland, California, Ahmad believes massage is more than just relieving muscle tension — it’s a way to promote healing, balance, and real self-care. growing up, he used to massage his mother and saw how much relief it gave her. that experience stuck with him. He shares:

"As someone who’s played basketball through high school, AAU, and adult leagues, I’ve seen how important recovery is for athletes. That love for the game — and the physical demands that come with it — inspired me to pursue massage therapy, especially in the sports world.

Now, as a student at the National Holistic Institute and preparing to start my externship, I’m excited to apply everything I’ve learned and keep growing toward a meaningful career in this field."

Ahmad will be offering his practice hours here at our North Oakland community retreat, on Fridays, from 4-6 p.m., as well as select community outreach events. we are providing our complimentary 30 minute chair massage bookmarks to neighbors and others who when they schedule their complimentary 30 minutes, will support Ahman in his training.

the community is welcome to join us in our back garden, fragrant with herbs, jasmine flowers and grapevines, for these complimentary chair massages, every Friday during Ahmad's externship.
